I don't look ready for prime time here- but it sure was a happy moment I wanted to have documented. Amelia sleeping beside me while I knit with some of my all time favorite hot pink yarn, soft and custom handspun from Shannon at SunriseLodgeFiberStudio, on a recent weekend morning.
I have three pair of hugs-handmade socks from friends: one striped pair from Lori, one ladylike pinky-purple pair from my friend Kusi, and one from long ago from my friend Paul. The socks I've knit in the past have been fat, dr. seuss-y and appropriate for wearing in hiking boots or galoshes. However, just like the magical 'someday' when I only use vintage and handmade dishes, I would love to live happily in the future wearing only handknit socks. That day sure feels far away because I'm a slow knitter.

CREATURED OBJECTS by me :)
well, since our blog has been neglected...and no sweaters seem to be flying about this winter, I thought I'd take a little tangent to share some photos of what's on my mind.
Here are a few of my ceramic cups, which are all over our home. When we have a dinner party, we fill the dining table with an army of large, medium, small and in btwn sized vessels to tempt guests with drinks, appetizers, condiments, candies or dessert. When people ask why I don't sell them, I simply tell them that I'm getting there...but for now I enjoy the growing army.
I have always loved personified and 'creatured' functional objects- maybe so I don't ever get lonely. My dear friends Larry and Daniel sometimes indulge this fascination of mine, as they are likely some of the cause of it! :)
sending love...

hi everyone. i hope the weather is clearing for you. we are having an early spring which is not good either since the cold weather will just ruin the plants but what to do. i am having a hard time posting my pictures from flickr. i don't like the way it works at all. i wanted to share with you my first colorwork bag. a beautiful bag at that. as usual i try to make my own directions, and guess what? i now have a huge felted fruit bowl. will try to share it with you. it looks good filled with apples and oranges but not so much for my bag. anyway, hope all is well. i don't have a project so i might try another bag. xoxo linda
